Little Curly Owl... 2 Ways

I have quite a lot of favourite stamps in the latest Woodware Craft Collection release and this is one of them, the Curly Owl, designed by Francoise Read.

I paper pieced the owl with papers I had made with the Creative Palette, I took the prints from the plate with copier paper, copier paper is ideal to use when you want to make papers for this technique.

I stamped the owl 3 times onto different papers I had pulled from the plate, cut them out and pieced them together onto another stamped image on white card.

I coloured the heart with a red Tombow pen.

The alphabet background paper is from the Antique Paper Pad, this pad is great value at only £1.99 for 30 sheets of 6" x 6" assorted papers that mix and match!

The burlap trim is a small frayed piece cut from a square of jute.  The packs of jute are brilliant, there are eight 6" x 6" pieces in each pack and as you tend to cut them down, they do go a long way.  They also add a great texture to cards. I used one of the new Steampunk Owl Brass Charms attached with natural hemp cord.  Again, this cord goes a long way, I've had mine for a long while and love the fact that there is a colour choice in the pack.

The twig is courtesy of a find by our dog, cut and mounted as an embellishment with silicone glue.

I also added glossy accents to the eyes

The card below was made by Francoise Read, I love her doodling and shading with the Little Curly Owl stamp!  Francoise has used a background paper from the Vintage 2 paper pad

The same Curly Owl stamp used 2 ways!
