Little Curly Owl... 2 Ways

I have quite a lot of favourite stamps in the latest Woodware Craft Collection release and this is one of them, the Curly Owl, designed by Francoise Read.

I paper pieced the owl with papers I had made with the Creative Palette, I took the prints from the plate with copier paper, copier paper is ideal to use when you want to make papers for this technique.

I stamped the owl 3 times onto different papers I had pulled from the plate, cut them out and pieced them together onto another stamped image on white card.

I coloured the heart with a red Tombow pen.

The alphabet background paper is from the Antique Paper Pad, this pad is great value at only £1.99 for 30 sheets of 6" x 6" assorted papers that mix and match!

The burlap trim is a small frayed piece cut from a square of jute.  The packs of jute are brilliant, there are eight 6" x 6" pieces in each pack and as you tend to cut them down, they do go a long way.  They also add a great texture to cards. I used one of the new Steampunk Owl Brass Charms attached with natural hemp cord.  Again, this cord goes a long way, I've had mine for a long while and love the fact that there is a colour choice in the pack.

The twig is courtesy of a find by our dog, cut and mounted as an embellishment with silicone glue.

I also added glossy accents to the eyes

The card below was made by Francoise Read, I love her doodling and shading with the Little Curly Owl stamp!  Francoise has used a background paper from the Vintage 2 paper pad

The same Curly Owl stamp used 2 ways!

Woodware Craft Collection - new - Noel Reindeer

I used another piece of the background paper that I made with the Stampendous Creative Palette and used with the Curly Christmas stamp I posted yesterday.  The pattern shows more on the reindeer that I paper pieced with Francoise Read's new Noel Reindeer stamp.

The Happy Christmas greeting is included with the Noel Reindeer stamp and polka dot paper from one of the new paper pads.  The star button adds an embellishment along with some crystal self adhesive gems.

Now, if you think we are starting Christmas early, one of the new stamps is for Easter!  You can't get much more ahead in your card making than this!

I used another piece of the same background paper I made with the Creative Palette and stamped the bunny, the papers you make certainly go a long way for paper piecing.

The swirly background paper (that matches the bunny in real life) is from the new paper pack Perfect Prints Stack Packs - Fresh - MSP228R - 15 x 15cm - 30 Assorted SheetsAt £1.99 per pack they are really good value!

If you think that bunny looks a bit wonky, he is, I used a wobble action fixing on the back of the panel so it wobbles, a great idea for any children cards, they will love it. Woodware - Action Wobble (12) - AW01

Francoise has also designed some lovely cute images for young children that I'll show another time.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great Sunday!

Curly Christmas

Woodware Curly Christmas Clear Magic Single - FRS271

I paper pieced this new stamp design by Francoise Read with a background paper I made with the Creative Palette as an alternative to colouring it all with pens or pencils.

I pulled a few A4 sheets from the Creative Palette that I have used with a number of cards I made with the new Woodware Craft Collection stamps that have just been released.

I used Tombow pens to add colour to the holly, berries, stars and the heart.

The polka dot paper  background paper panel is from one of the new paper packs, it's nice to be able to mix and match your own backgrounds papers with pre-printed papers.

The white polka dot ribbon was made using the Brilliant Bowmaker.

The small words are included with the main stamp.

I hope you are enjoying the heatwave, isn't it nice to have proper British summer weather!

New - Woodware Stamp Collection - another Winter Trees card

Here is another card I made for the new Woodware Craft Collection catalogue with the Winter Trees stamps designed by Francoise Read.

I created the background using the Stampendous Creative Palette and embossed the trees with Stampendous detail white embossing powder.  I added a some Stampendous chunky white embossing powder before heating it all.  I pinched some of the chunky powder in my fingers and let it drop randomly onto the card before heating from underneath.  The chunky powder expands when heated to create a snowy effect.

The new stamps are available now, you can find them on our website HERE

Following on from yesterday's post here are a few sneaky peeks that Sarah Anderson has been working on for the Great British Craft Festival - North, next weekend at the Bolton Arena.

The card above features Jane's Cow Parsley Stamp by Woodware Craft Collection.  Sarah has used graphic 45 ink pads on the creative palette.

This is a mop up page from paint on the creative palette, Sarah has added doodling to Jane Gill's Georgina flower stamp.  The wording on both cards is Double Birthdays designed by Francoise Read for Woodware Craft Collection.

These are gorgeous Sarah!!!  I will show more another time but if you'd like to visit Sarah's blog to read more about her experimentation with the Creative Palette, visit her blog HERE

We have added a lot of new products to our website, you will find them HERE.  At the time of writing there are still photos to add, but there is a lot to see there already.

The Great British Craft Festival - Stoneleigh Park - This weekend!!!

Well, we are all packed up ready to set off early tomorrow for the show set up.

As we've been packing it all I've been getting more and more excited about the show.  I am really pleased with all the wonderful new stamps and accessories we have with us from Woodware Craft Collection, Stampendous and the cuties from House Mouse that Stampendous are now manufacturing.

Some of you may have seen Fran Seiford, owner from Stampendous on the live Create and Craft TV show from Las Vegas recently.  Initially, some of the designs were exclusive to Create and Craft and we are so pleased that they are now on general release and we will have those exclusives with us as well as many others from the new range.  We will add these extra House Mouse designs to our website on our return from the show.

If you are able to attend the show you will find a montage of some of the new designs from Stampendous and House Mouse on boards to help with inspiration.  There are many card ideas that have been made by the Stampendous design team that you will find on our website when viewing most of the new stamps.  You will find them all on our website HERE

I love this stamp, Stampendous - Chin Up - House Mouse Cling Rubber - HMCP03

As I mentioned before, Francoise Read will be demonstrating her new stamps on our stand H4, she will also be holding make and takes that you will need to book when you arrive at the show.

I will be demonstrating with Stampendous products, we have the 3 new colour sets as well, so things will be very sparkly!!

I'll post again tomorrow to briefly tell you about something else we have with us at the show.

If you are coming to the show, please do come and say hello.

A couple more cards from the new Woodware Craft Collection catalogue

A quick post this morning with a couple of cards I have made with another of Francoise's new stamps - Woodware Tall Vase Clear Magic Singles FRS303.  There are wording stamps included with this stamp too.  The stamp design fits well on a DL sized card.

I used the With Love wording on the card above and shaped it to fit the shape of the vase before stamping onto the card.

I then coloured the image with pencils and inks, (the inks match the background panel made using a stencil). I placed double sided sticky sheet over the entire main panel and covered it in glitter.  I added dimension with glossy accents to various areas, including the vase.  I sprinkled Stampendous Champagne glitter glass into the glossy accents on the vase to add a different texture element.

I finished it off with a wrap of green and white Woodware twine.

It does look better in real life, the glitter and dimension do not show in the photo.

I paper pieced this card adding another of the wording stamps as a panel at the side.

All the products used can be found on our website HERE

Another new stamp design from Francoise Read

You may know that Francoise has designed many stamps in her 'huge' range of words for the Woodware Craft Collection and this is another great addition to that range.

It is Woodware Huge Fishing Clear Magic Single FRS245.

Ian and I have been busy packing bargain packs for the show, so far we've packed papers, ribbons, brads, buttons, and eyelets.  If you are attending the show do call and see us, we will also have a great selection of Woodware and Stampendous stamps with us and amazing prices on mica products.

Our stand is H4, (Block C), opposite the large seating area

Well, better get on, loads to do today.
